HCM City Tourism Association proposes visa exemption extension

It has proposed that citizens from the five European countries who can currently enter Vietnam for a maximum of 15 days visa-free, be granted an extended 30-day visa exemption from the end of June.

It has also suggested expanding the visa waiver policy to cover visitors from other markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium, which have seen the rapidly increasing numbers of visitors staying for long periods and spending highly.

According to travel operators, they are finding it difficult to sell tours and expand destinations to key markets as the expiry date of the visa exemption policy nears.
