HCM City to pilot digital government management platform from mid-October

Ho Chi Minh City will pilot the operation of its new digital government management platform across the entire city from October 15 to the end of this year.

The platform features six core functions, namely monitoring and reminding tasks assigned by the Government Office; tracking and prompting tasks from the municipal People’s Committee; enabling instant task assignment; sending personal task reminders; maintaining a contact directory; and supporting individual and group communications for task coordination.

The Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Centre (DXCentre) will conduct an information security assessment of the platform in line with current regulations.

To implement the initiative, the municipal People’s Committee has tasked the DXCentre to take the lead, in coordination with the Office of the city People’s Committee, in developing and piloting a mobile application for city officials and civil servants. The platform’s deployment, management, and operation must ensure smooth performance, cybersecurity, and data protection. Training sessions will be organised for officials, civil servants, and staff at departments, agencies, and ward- and commune-level People’s Committees across the city to ensure comprehensive and consistent adoption.

Installation and training for all users are required to be completed before October 15.

Following the trial period, the DXCentre will evaluate the application’s performance, effectiveness, integration capacity, and stability. It will continue to coordinate with the Office of the city People’s Committee to finalise the platform, ensuring it fully supports the city’s leadership and administrative operations in a digital environment.

The completed platform will include features such as a digital command dashboard, end-to-end digital signature-enabled document processing, and task tracking for assignments issued by the Government, the Party Committee of the municipal People’s Committee, the city People's Committee and the Chairman of the municipal People's Committee. It will also integrate existing functionalities from the current Document and Task Management System operated by the Office of the city People’s Committee.

The upgraded platform is expected to be fully completed in the first quarter of 2026.
