HCM City pilots electricity-powered bus routes

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the opening of three unsubisidised routes for 12-seat electricity-powered buses for the next three years in HCM City.

The city’s People’s Committee is responsible for determining the bus schedules and specific routes.

Every six months, the city will submit evaluation reports of the pilot bus programme to the government.

PM Phuc has urged the Ministry of Transport to issue regulations to govern the electric-bus operations and instruct the committee on project implementation.

The city plans to use the electric buses in the central business district, Phu My Hung Urban Area and Nhieu Loc – Thị Nghe Canal area.
