HCM City increases education and training cooperation with Czech Republic

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is keen to step up cooperation on education and training with the Czech Republic to develop high-quality human resources, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Pham Duc Ha said while receiving Václav Klaus, head of the Czech lower house’s Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports on June 8.

HCM City wants the Czech Republic to share its experience in building hi-tech infrastructure for a smart city and building a system of high-quality universities and colleges. It also desires to boost ties with Czech localities to share teaching experience, hold arts programmes and intensify cultural exchanges, he told his guest.

He also applauded the strong growth of Vietnam- Czech Republic relations via mutual high-ranking exchange visits and the signing of agreements on trade, investment and education.

Václav Klaus said his committee chose Vietnam to be a destination for its only foreign trip this year, which shows his country’s willingness to bolster affiliation with Vietnam and HCM City, especially in education and culture.

The Czech Republic is destined to re-establish the Consulate General in HCM City,which will  practically benefit bilateral connections in politics, economy, trade and investment between the two sides.
During their visit in HCM City, the Czech delegation also visited a number of educational establishments and relic sites and the hi-tech centre of the city.
