HCM City and Google cooperate to promote digital transformation in education
VOV.VN - Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City administration on November 1 hosted a reception for Tim Paolini, director of Google for Education project in Asia - Pacific and the Middle East region, to discuss the orientations for achieving cooperation in digital transformation in the education sector.
At the meeting, both sides agreed on a number of key points in bilateral cooperation programme based on proposals put forward by Google for Education.
Specifically, Google for Education will assist the city in improving teachers’ digital capabilities through training schemes whilst providing digital learning materials to help them confidently apply technology in teaching with the aim of offering creative and effective learning experiences for all students.
Another focus for collaboration between both sides is to promote digital transformation with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Google for Education by deploying Gemini Academy and Gemini Education programmes, whilst also equipping teachers and students with necessary skills about AI.
The Google representative expressed his hope at the prospect of coordinating with the city to organise an international award on AI Educator for teachers who pioneer in applying AI, as well as honouring initiatives in applying AI in the education field.
Accordingly, Google for Education will support Ho Chi Minh City in deploying the Chrome Education Upgrade (CEU) system, a comprehensive data management platform for schools, thereby improving management efficiency and education quality.
Moreover, Google is also committed to linking the southern city to a network of experts and leading educational partners in the world with the aim of bringing the most comprehensive and advanced learning experiences to both teachers and students.
