HCM City: 235 quarantined after new community cases detected
VOV.VN - Health workers in Ho Chi Minh City have identified and quarantined a total of 235 people who either came into direct or indirect contact with two positive novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in the southern city.
This comes following COVID-19 patient No.1,347 coming into direct contact with his friend who is a male flight attendant of Vietnam Airlines, an individual who has been confirmed to be patient No. 1,342, and who had been quarantined in HCM City.
The southern city’s Department of Health has since issued an urgent notice to residents about the specific locations that the COVID-19 patients had visited.
At present, medical workers are in the process of conducting contact tracing and striving to swiftly implement concentrated isolation for all individuals who came into close contact with the patients.
The department has also directed the transfer of all Vietnam Airlines’ flight attendants to concentrated isolation facility in Cu Chi, meanwhile the local airline's current quarantine facility is shut down in order to be disinfected.
With regard to patient No.1347, Nguyen Tien Hong, deputy director of Danang’s Department of Health, confirmed that 11 people in the city have been placed into quarantine after they had direct and indirect contacts with the patient.
According to the latest update, an F1 case in Da Nang was confirmed to have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2-virus.
