Hanoians struggle as sudden cold air hits northern region

VOV.VN - Cold air accompanied by light rain has hit the northern region with Hanoians struggling during their daily commutes as temperatures dropped to 18 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi experienced light rain in the early morning of November 19 due to the impact of cold wind blowing into the region.
 
The cold weather arrived with drizzly conditions which caused traffic congestion streets across Hanoi.
Hanoians wrapped up in raincoats to fight off the cold.
Although the rain stopped at 8am, residents still wore raincoats to keep warm.
Residents covered their mouth and noses with masks.
Children were wrapped up with warm clothes by their parents.

Despite the cold air and bleak weather conditions, labourers across the city battled on with their jobs.
The cold air is predicted to last between November 21-24.

    Nguyen Van Huong, head of the Climate Forecast Office at the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, says the firstcold spell of the 2018-2019 winter will hit the capital city from December 20-30 with average temperature dropping below 15 degrees Celsius.
