Hanoi training course improves overseas Vietnamese teachers’ pedagogic skills

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training kick-started a training course in Hanoi on August 16 for Vietnamese teachers overseas to improve their pedagogic skills.

The two-week training course has brought together more than 60 amateur teachers and volunteers who have a high command of Vietnamese. These trainees have been introduced by Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

There are approximately 5.3 million Vietnamese nationals living in more than 130 countries and territories worldwide. Preserving Vietnamese culture, including teaching and learning Vietnamese, has long been an essential need of the Vietnamese community abroad.

During the training course, the trainees will attend classes and exchange practical experiences in teaching Vietnamese at Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School. They will participate in a seminar on methods of teaching Vietnamese to children abroad, and explore major cultural and historical landmarks in Hanoi, such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Presidential Palace, Temple of Literature, and Thang Long Imperial Citadel, to learn about the country’s history.

The two ministries launched the first training course for overseas Vietnamese teachers in 2013, and they have so far run many courses for more than 800 Vietnamese teachers abroad.
