Hanoi to launch firework displays on New Year’s Eve
VOV.VN - Fireworks will light up skies over five locations across the capital city of Hanoi to ring in the New Year 2025, according to the Hanoi People's Committee.
To mark the New Year 2025, the city will hold a Countdown event on the evening of December 31 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and August Revolution Square.
It will also organize fireworks displays in five venues across the districts of Hoan Kiem, Ha Dong, Nam Tu Liem, Dong Anh, and Son Tay town. The fireworks will last for about 15 minutes, from midnight to 12:15 AM on January 1, 2025.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, Hanoi will also organise an international light festival in Tay Ho district, which is scheduled to take place at 20:00 p.m. on January 18 and the "Radiant Thang Long 2025" programme in the My Dinh National Stadium area from 9:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on January 28, 2025.
The city will also organise high-range and low-range firework displays at in 30 venues in 30 districts and towns across the city from midnight to 0:15 a.m. on January 29, 2025, the first day of the lunar New Year.
Hanoi has planned to distribute 1.1 million gift packages to policy beneficiaries for the lunar New Year, with a total budget of VND567 billion.
