Hanoi takes urgent measures to ensure traffic safety
The Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao, has asked the Hanoi Transport and Services Corporation (Transerco) and relevant agencies and to carry out urgent measures to curb serious traffic accidents.
He said on July 3 that the city police should intensify inspections and strictly punish officials and staff who violate traffic law.
The Department of Transport is in charge of inspecting the operation of transport businesses, stations, driver training and licensing establishments, as well as registration centres.
Since early this year, Hanoi has seen 300 serious traffic accidents, killing 318 people and injuring 15 others.
