Hanoi smashes trans-border drug smuggling via postal services
Hanoi’s customs officers in collaboration with forces from the Ministry of Public Security have busted a drug trafficking ring using express postal services.
As part of the raid, three suspects and 26,700 ecstasy pills were seized on November 15.
The drug ring was on the police’s radar as suspicions arose from a box imported from the Netherlands to Vietnam. After examination, officers found it contained nine plastic coffee bags, which were filled with blue pills. The pills were found to be synthetic drugs.
When three suspects, one from Ho Chi Minh City and two from Hanoi, came to retrieve the box, they were arrested.
Further investigation is underway.
