Hanoi - renovation and development

An exhibition featuring the renovation and development of Hanoi after five years of administrative border expansion opened in the capital city on July 25. 

The exhibition at the Hanoi Museum displays more than 100 photos of the capital city’s comprehensive achievements in the last five years and many typical products by artisans from 10 renowned craft villages around Hanoi. 

Nguyen Khac Loi, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the exhibition offers a chance for Hanoi citizen to show their responsibility and love for the capital city.

In 2008, Ha Tay province, Me Linh district of Vinh Phuc province and four communes of Hoa Binh province’s Luong Son district were incorporated into Hanoi.

The expansion makes Hanoi the 17th largest capital city in the world with a total area of more than 3,300 square kilometres.
