Between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., the monitoring station at the gate of Hanoi University of Science and Technology recorded AQI levels ranging from 223 to 202, an alarming figure classified as “very unhealthy.”
Meanwhile, several monitoring points in Long Bien, Bac Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, and Cau Giay districts also reached red levels, indicating air quality harmful to public health.
City officials stated that they are implementing various measures to improve air quality, including cleaning up urban waste, prohibiting straw and waste burning in suburban areas, promoting public transportation, and encouraging the use of electric vehicles.
Health experts advise that to minimize exposure to hazardous fine dust, adults, children, pregnant women, and individuals with respiratory conditions should wear masks and protective eyewear when outdoors.
Notably, Hanoi is promoting the transition to low-emission vehicles, the use of clean energy, and environmentally friendly solutions while expanding public transportation to reduce reliance on private vehicles.
