Hanoi Military Hospital doctor infected with SARS-CoV-2

VOV.VN - A doctor of Military Hospital 105 in Hanoi’s Son Tay outlying township has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the Hanoi Centre for Diseases Control (CDC) confirmed on May 6.

The 43-year-old patient, who works at Endocrinology Department, is closely linked to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No2, said the Hanoi CDC.

The same day, the Hanoi Department of Health announced four more COVID-19 cases, with two linked to the ongoing outbreak in Vinh Phuc province and two tied to the outbreak at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No2.

The National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No2 is the country’s biggest coronavirus hotspot at the moment, recording 22 cases on May 4 – 5.

The hospital has been put under a lockdown order since May 5 for epidemiological investigations, contact tracing, testing and chemical disinfection. The decision is set to last until May 19.

The local health sector asked those who visited the hospital for regular examination or treatment between April 14 and May 4 to contact nearby medical facilities for consultations and help.
