Hanoi hospital records five more COVID-19 cases
VOV.VN - The Hanoi-based K Cancer Hospital No2 recorded five out of six more coronavirus cases announced by the Ministry of Health at noon May 16.
The new cases were detected in their quarantine area set up in the hospital which is still under the ongoing lockdown order.
Dozens of cases, mostly patients and their relatives, have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus since the virus was found at the hospital more than a week ago.
Elsewhere, one more case was documented at Hung Yen province, according to the MoH’s 12.00hrs update. The female patient tested positive after having a close contact with a COVID-19 patient.
Bac Giang is the epicenter of the country’s COVID-19 pandemic, recording more than 300 cases over the past few days. The province has asked for help from the MoH and other localities to speed up quarantine zoning, contact tracing and massive testing.
Dr Tran Dac Phu, a senior advisor to the Ministry of Health, warned that the virus is evolving in a complex manner and more cases without known source of infection are likely to be detected in the community.
He therefore advised local people to remain highly vigilant and strictly follow the MoH’s COVID-19 guidelines, including donning face masks, washing hands with sanitizer, avoiding large gatherings and keeping a safe distance in public places.
