Hanoi grants amnesty to 100 prisoners on National Day

VOV.VN - Prisoners at Hanoi police’s detention centres moved to tear when getting amnesty to reunite with their families before the National Day (September 2).

On August 31, Hanoi announced its decision to grant clemency to more than 100 prisoners who are serving sentences at Hanoi police’s detention centres on the occasion of National Day.

At the detention centre No.1, 82 inmates will be freed ahead of their set release dates.

Colonel Chu XuanTho, warder of the detention centre No1, said the amnesty aims to acknowledge offenders’ training effort and help them rehabilitate and become useful member of society.

A female inmate cries when getting the amnesty decision.

Pardoned offenders are very happy to meet their relatives.

New life is waiting for pardoned prisoners. They will reintegrate into the society and do their best to become a good citizen.
