VOV.VN - All State agencies in Hanoi on September 18 morning observed a minute of silence for victims of last week’s mini apartment building fire.

After the ceremony, State officials and employees raised funds in support of the families of the bereaved.
Earlier, the administration of Hanoi decided to temporarily suspend all cultural events, sport games and entertainment activities from September 14 to 17 following the deadly fire.
The fire that broke out at 23:00 on September 12 at a mini apartment building in Thanh Xuan District was extinguished more than an hour later killed a total of 56 residents and injured 37 others. Among them were many children and students.
Authorities detained Nghiem Quang Minh, 44, the owner of the building, for questioning over violations regarding fire prevention and control rules.
This was the deadliest fire in Hanoi over the years, according to local authorities.
