Ha Tinh border guards seize 3,000 pills of synthetic drug

VOV.VN - Border guards at Cau Treo international border gate in Central Ha Tinh province on August 5 caught red-handed Mai Dinh Duong as he was in the process of smuggling 3,000 pills of synthetic drugs.

Functional units also confiscated 0.1kg of methamphetamine and 5g of heroin.

Duong was born in 1990 in Nga Truong commune, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa Province. He initially confessed that he was hired for the drug trafficking by an unknown person in Khamkeut district, Bolikhamsai Province in Laos to Nuoc Ngam bus station in Hanoi to get VND20 million.

Further investigations are underway.

Another drug smuggling ring from Laos busted

Customs officers and border guards of Cau Treo international border gate, in cooperation with police in the central province of Ha Tinh, on July 17 arrested three suspects who were illegally transporting 25 kilogrammes of crystal meth of 52 cakes (nearly 18 kilogrammes) of heroin from Laos to Vietnam.
