Government Inspectorate to make vital inspections in 2017
The Government Inspectorate will conduct a series of crucial inspections this year, said Deputy Chief of the Government Inspectorate Ngo Van Khanh.
Khanh said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the Government Inspectorate’s yearly inspection plan. The inspections will include public land use, officials’ travelling abroad and official ranking in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The plan will focus on the use and management of land in some industrial and processing zones and new urban and key economic areas.
According to the official, the PM ordered the Government Inspectorate to carry out special work related to the use of public land in prime locations in large cities, including Hanoi, HCM City, Da Nang, Can Tho and Khanh Hoa province.
The Government Inspectorate will inspect the land use of the Vietnam Rubber Corporation and the Vietnam Tea Corporation and Corporation of Forestry.
It also aims at close scrutiny on those lands which used to be for military or national security activities but now are instead being used for other purposes.
This year, a new point was mentioned according to which the Government Inspectorate would intensify its co-operation with ministries and sectors to limit to a minimum a case of overlapping and at the same time promote the efficiency of specialised inspections, Khanh said.
Unlike the previous year, the Government Inspectorate this year planned to specifically concentrate on environmental issues, the official added, saying it would closely co-operate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Construction to undertake comprehensive inspections on environmental protection in new urban areas, industrial and procession zones.
Khanh said inspection of the Samsung complex in northern mountainous Thai Nguyen province would be of utmost priority since it was among the industrial establishments discharging a large amount of industrial waste, including hazardous waste into the environment.
The Government Inspectorate would focus on inspecting State-owned restructuring and equitisation in HCM City, the Ministry of Transport and its agencies.
The PM authorised the Government Inspectorate to work with the State Bank of Vietnam to inspect crediting and financial investment in commercial banks with large bad debts.
The ministries of defence, public security and health will also be on the list of those entities to be inspected this year.
