General elected head of Vietnam War Veterans Association

VOV.VN - Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, former Deputy Minister of National Defense, has been elected president of the Vietnam War Veterans Association for the 2022-2027 term.

Gen. Truong was elected at the first conference of the central committee of the Vietnam War Veterans Association on December 30. The 94-member committee also elected the 22-member standing board for the 2022-2027 tenure.

The 94-member central committee made its debut at the closing ceremony of the seventh congress of the Vietnam War Veterans Association in Hanoi on December 31.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Gen. Truong asked the association’s chapters to immediately draw up and implement plans of actions to translate the resolution adopted at the congress into reality.

He encourage the chapters to promote emulation drives to successfully implement the assigned tasks, contributing to firmly building and defending the Fatherland.
