Fulbright University Vietnam sets up Centre for Vietnamese Studies
VOV.VN - The Center for Vietnamese Studies at Fulbright University Vietnam is poised to officially come into operation starting from April with the aim of preserving and promoting the precious values of Vietnamese culture.
The move comes following Fulbright University Vietnam signing a co-operation agreement with the State Records and Archives Management Department relating to the establishment of the Centre for Vietnamese Studies at the university.
The initial agreement is set to take effect for five years, with both sides co-organising academic seminars and exhibitions, as well as digitalising and publishing research projects. This is in addition to introducing cultural heritage, the world’s documentary heritage, archival documents, and typical Vietnamese artifacts.
These activities are expected to introduce images of Vietnamese people, culture, and history to both the local and international public.
Simultaneously, they have also contributed to educating young generations and heightening the spirit of national pride, patriotism, as well as responsibility in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage.
Dr. Nora Taylor, interim provost of Fulbright University Vietnam, underscored the importance of the Center for Vietnamese Studies in becoming a spearhead for the network of Vietnamese researchers at home and abroad, whilst also being an incubator for future research activities.
Moving forward, the Center for Vietnamese Studies will officially be put into operation from April with the initial support of the Hung Vo Foundation.
