FrieslandCampina Vietnam, Binh Duong promote environmental protection

VOV.VN - On March 28, Binh Duong province’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment signed a cooperation agreement with FrieslandCampina Vietnam for launching communications activities and raising public awareness about environmental protection among young local people.

The program agreed under the deal will focus on organising training courses on environmental protection, and equipping learners (including teachers from primary schools in the locality) with the essential skills to disseminate among others in the field and help them to cope with the effects of climate change.

From April 2 to May 31, 2018, talks will be held by teachers to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection for the pupils of 20 primary schools in Binh Duong.

From June 5 to July 31, a competition to make a short film on environmental protection will be launched and the prizes are expected to be unveiled in September 2018.

Under the deal, both sides will participate in activities for the World Environment 2018 and devise communication plans for raising public awareness about environmental protection among the community.

At the signing ceremony, Nguyen Hong Nguyen, deputy director of the provincial department of Natural Resources and Environment expressed hope that communications activities in 2018 will help to improve students’ and pupils’ awareness about environmental protection and climate change, and ensure local sustainable development.
