Free surgeries for 650 children with cleft lips, palates

VOV.VN - The National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in coordination with Operation Smile Vietnam will be providing free surgeries for children with cleft lips and palates from April 17 to the end of May.

Trinh Dinh Hai, director of the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, said the children will receive free treatment, including surgeries, testing, X-ray screening, and postoperative care and medicines until they are discharged from hospital.

In addition, the hospital and Operation Smile Vietnam will conduct eight humanitarian surgery clinics, with four being held at the Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology and four others in the provinces of Dak Lak, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, and Nghe An. Around 650 children will benefit from the program.

Families across the country with children affected by cleft lips and palates can contact the hospital at the address at 40B Trang Thi Street in Hanoi to register for the free surgeries.

The hospital has so far brought smiles to thousands of children with birth defects nationwide.
