Free medical check-ups for poor OVs and Cambodian people

(VOV) - The Association of Khmer Vietnamese in the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA), HCM city branch and Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine on January 24 provided free medical check-ups and gifts for 500 poor OVs and Cambodian people living in Phnom Penh.
Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of COVA’s HCM city branch said this is an annual activity held by HCM City to help poor OVs and Cambodian people have a happy Lunar New Year. It also aims to promote friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Vice Mayor of Chbar Ampov district in Phnom Penh, Tek Chani spoke highly of Vietnamese organisations and businesses’ kind-hearted action and considered it a symbol of friendly relations between the two countries.
She hoped that Vietnamese voluntary groups will continue their humanitarian activities to support poor people in Cambodia.
Over the years, Vietnamese doctors have conducted a number of visits to grant free medical check-ups and surgeries to the poor in Cambodia.
