Free health check-ups for poor people in Ha Tinh

The Red Cross Society of Ha Tinh central province provided free health examination and medicines for low-income fishermen and social welfare beneficiaries in Ky Anh district on July 31.

As many as 1,000 underprivileged people in the district benefited from the programme.

The organising board presented 340 gift packages, each worth VND500,000 (US$22.5), to disadvantaged households.

The charitable activity forms part of a programme launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to support people in the central region affected by saltwater intrusion, drought, and massive fish deaths.

Ky Anh is one of the districts to suffer the most from the recent maritime environmental incident.
