Francophone space takes shape in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Louise Mushikiwabo, secretary-general of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), attended the launch of a Francophone space on March 25 at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV).

During a working session after the launch ceremony, Dr Pham Lan Dung, acting director of the DAV, informed her guest that following the inauguration of a new building in November, 2021, the DAV, the Asia-Pacific Regional Office of the OIF, along with some French-speaking countries, decided to realise an idea of creating a specific Francophone space at the DAV. This was in line with the site being one of the longest-serving French teaching facilities nationwide.

Mushikiwabo went on to affirm that the newly-inaugural space will serve as a symbol of the co-operation between the OIF and the DAV, as well as the friendship between the wider Francophone community and Vietnam as a whole.

She expressed her gratitude to the university for its contribution in the development of the Francophone community over recent years.

The secretary general said that at this time her entourage comprises of approximately 60 firms in the Francophone community, all of which are keen to select Vietnam as the first country to carry out a new economic programme. They are particularly keen as the nation boasts a dynamic economy that is capable of capturing the attention of many African nations.
