FPT’s Akabot AI Agentic Automation solution receives patent in Taiwan (China)

VOV.VN - The Akabot Agentic Automation plaform, developed by Vietnam’s telecom giant FPT, has recently been granted a patent by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office for the automated solution that separates and classifies input documents using machine learning.

The invention directly addresses the challenge of processing large volumes of data in various formats such as invoices, contracts, purchase orders and acceptance records, a common operational bottleneck for enterprises. By mastering this core technology, Akabot enables AI agents to intelligently process up to 300–400 document sets per day, reducing document separation and classification time from about 15 minutes to only 30–60 seconds.

The patent provides comprehensive protection for the solution’s computer system, implementation methods and storage media, safeguarding Akabot’s core algorithms against potential technology replication.

Prior to receiving the patent in Taiwan, Akabot’s machine learning system for document separation and classification were also granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2023. The technology has since been widely applied in solutions such as Akabot Vision and UBot Invoice, serving nearly 2,000 customers worldwide.

In addition, FPT was named among 16 global providers of custom software development services on a list released by Constellation Research, alongside major global technology and consulting firms including IBM, Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro.

According to Constellation Research, the custom software development services market is entering a period of rapid transformation as enterprises increasingly require highly adaptable software systems capable of deeply integrating emerging technologies such as generative AI, automation and AI-agent architectures.

In this context, software providers are expected to develop the capability to design intelligent systems that integrate both data and AI to meet increasingly complex operational requirements.

Artificial intelligence currently ranks first among Vietnam’s 11 strategic technology sectors. The country has identified six key AI products for development, including Vietnamese large language models, virtual assistants, specialised AI applications, AI analytics, digital twins and the metaverse.

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology also launched a plan to attract 100 top experts to participate in national key programmes on artificial intelligence development.
