Four more cases confirmed with virus spreading to two major cities

VOV.VN - Four further cases of local transmission confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were announced on 29 July evening by the Ministry of Health, including one in Hanoi and another in Ho Chi Minh City.

Patient 447 is a 23 year-old-man from Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi. The patient travelled to the central city of Da Nang from July 12-15.

Patient 448 is a 21 year- old female patient living in Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district in the central highlands province of Dak Lak. From June 22 to July 17, she served as a medical practitioner at Da Nang Hospital.

A 57 year- old man of American nationality, living in Hoa Khanh Bac ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang is the 449th case of coronavirus infection.

Patient 450 is a 46 year- old woman, who takes care of patient 449. On July 26, the patient displayed symptoms of runny nose, muscle fatigue. On July 27, patients 449 and 450 had their samples taken by the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases for testing and their test results reported positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus one day later.

Amid the increasingly complicated developments of the COVID-10 pandemic, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on July 29 ordered intensifying supervision over people who traveled to different locations in Da Nang- the locality that is a major coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The health ministry reported that, as of July 29 evening, Vietnam recorded a total of 34 cases of community transmission related to the outbreak in Da Nang.
Of the 34 locally-transmitted cases, 27 are said to be related to Da Nang Hospital.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, among those who are receiving treatment at medical facilities 12 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once or at least twice.

The national tally now stands at 450, of whom 369 (82.7%) have fully recovered from the virus.
