With the latest recognition, the Mekong Delta city now has six schools awarded the Label FrancEducation distinction. Among them, the Chau Van Liem High School, Luong The Vinh Junior High School, Ngo Quyen Primary School, and Mac Dinh Chi Primary School was recognised in 2026. The Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted and Tran Quoc Toan Primary School earned the accreditation previously.

Label FrancEducation is a prestigious certificate granted by France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to schools delivering bilingual French-language programmes that meet international standards. More than 600 institutions worldwide have received the label, including 21 in Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the Can Tho People’s Committee, said the accreditation recognises the continuous efforts of local schools while affirming the quality of French bilingual education in the city. She added that the achievement demonstrates Can Tho’s commitment to promoting Francophone language and culture and building a multicultural learning environment.

Consul General Ranaivoson emphasised that on the foundation of strong Vietnam – France relations, France aims to further enhance cooperation with Vietnamese localities, particularly Can Tho, in priority sectors such as education and health care.

The recognition of six schools under the Label FrancEducation programme is expected to create momentum for expanding education cooperation between French and Can Tho institutions, contributing to human resources development and friendship between the two countries.

Can Tho steps up education, health cooperation with French partners

A delegation led by Etienne Ranaivoson, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, visited the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on March 10 to discuss enhancing cooperation in health care and education.
