Four killed, six injured in expressway crash in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - Four people were killed and six others injured in a multi-vehicle crash on an expressway in Vietnam’s central Thanh Hoa province early on January 14, according to police.

The accident occurred at around 3:40 a.m. on the Phap Van–Nghi Son expressway, when a tractor-trailer collided with a 15-seat passenger bus carrying 11 people. The truck then struck a second tractor-trailer at the same location.

The crash happened at Km 334+300 in Dong Tien commune, leaving all three vehicles severely damaged, police said.

The Highway Traffic Police Team No. 3 coordinated with the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police to cordon off the scene and investigate the cause.

The section of the expressway where the accident occurred has two lanes in each direction and no emergency stopping lane. The road surface is flat, and the speed limit is 90 km/h. At the time of the crash, the weather was dry, but fog reduced visibility.
