Former State President Sang, his wife share charity lunch with the poor

VOV.VN - Former State President Truong Tan Sang and his wife shared a charity lunch with the poor at Nu Cuoi (Smile) Pub on Cong Quynh Street, Ho Chi Minh City on September 18.

The former President and his wife eat the same lunch which costs VND2,000 as the poor workers who are regular customers of the pub. 

Mr Sang talks to journalist Nam Dong, former editor-in-chief of HCM City Law Newspaper, and founder of the Smile pub chain.

The couple talk to volunteers who serve at the pub.

The former President’s wife, Mrs Mai Thi Hanh often supports the chain of Smile pubs.

Mr Sang hopes that benefactors and businesses will donate more money to develop around 6,000 pubs to serve poor workers, students and cyclo drivers.

The couple donate VND50 million to the pub.

The Smile Pub opened on October 12, 2012.
