Five injured in Tuyen Quang international hot air balloon blast
VOV.VN - Five people were injured in a blast at an international hot air balloon that opened in the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang on April 29 evening.
According to local police, a foreigner suffered burns to his hands when he was bumping hot air into the balloon.
He then released the balloon, but the wind blew against it, prompting the hot air to flare up and cause a fire.
Four people came close to assist in fighting the fire and they also suffered minor burns from the hot air.
The five injured people were taken to the hospital for medical examination.
This hot air balloon was used for a light show as part of the festival, said local police.
The second international hot air balloon was inaugurated in Tuyen Quang by the provincial administration.
The festival has attracted the participation of 20 hot air balloons controlled by pilots from France, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan (China) and Vietnam.
