Fishing vessel rescued at sea off of Tran island in Quang Ninh

VOV.VN - The border guards of Tran island in the northern province of Quang Ninh have successfully rescued a fishing vessel following nearly five hours of the beleaguered ship battling against rough seas.

Local authorities in Mong Cai city presented certificates of merit to border guards of Tran island in Co To waters in Quang Ninh province.

Early in the morning of January 13, a fishing vessel captained by Nguyen Van Yen, who currently resides in Hai Hoa ward, Mong Cai city, sent out a distress signal after suffering engine failure amid adverse weather conditions such as high waves and strong winds.

After receiving the notification, the provincial border guard forces urgently dispatched a rescue team in search of the fishing vessel.

After nearly five hours, the border guards towed the fishing vessel safely to shore.
