First Vietnam International Digital Week set to open on October 11

VOV.VN - The first Vietnam International Digital Week (VIDW) 2022 is scheduled to start on October 11 and will feature the participation of leaders of ministries, sectors, and management agencies related to digital transformation from ASEAN member states, as well as international organisations, associations, and global digital firms.

The event is set to run until October 14 and will include a series of activities, such as conferences, forums on digital transformation, the development of digital economy, digital society, 5G network, co-operation in data protection, fake news prevention and combat, and the improvement of digital skills for citizens.

The nation has designed several important strategies specifically aimed at speeding up digital transformation and boosting the digital economy, digital society, and the use of digital government. Establishing bilateral and multilateral digital partnerships with countries throughout the region and the wider world has therefore been defined as a key task over the next decade which will help to maximise resources for the acceleration of the construction of a digital country.

The Ministry stated that VIDW 2022 will focus on promoting and expanding digital partnerships, with priority given to revamping institutions and the management environment, developing a digital technology industry and digital infrastructure, building a safe and reliable cyberspace, and improving digital skills for people.

VIDW 2022 also represents a chance for organisations, individuals, and businesses from the nation, other ASEAN member states, and from around the world to directly meet, share information, and seek co-operation opportunities and partnership in trade, investment, and market development. This will greatly contribute to uniting to promote the cause of digital transformation.
