First look at 60km long Ha Long-Van Don Expressway

VOV.VN - After undergoing three years of construction, the 60km long Ha Long-Van Don Expressway in the northern province of Quang Ninh has finally been completed and will imminently be put into operation.
On December 30, key transport links including Van Don International Airport, Ha Long –Van Don Expressway and Ha Long International Passenger Port will be officially inaugurated and put into operation. The Ha Long-Van Don Expressway in particular will help to reduce the travel time from Hanoi to Van Don to only 2.5 hours instead of four hours. |
The Ha Long-Van Don Expressway is 60km long and has received a total investment of VND12 trillion from the BOT Bien Cuong Joint Stock Company, as well as from the state budget. |
The expressway which connects to the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway, also passes through Bach Dang bridge and then straight to Van Don. |
According to design, the expressway has a top speed of 100 km per hour and a total width of 24.5 metres. |
The signposts and toll stations along the highway have been completed. |
Construction on the expressway has been very difficult due to mountainous terrain and landslides after heavy rains. |
Cam Hai bridge on the highway connects Cam Pha city with Van Don. |
Construction first began on the project in September 2015 with 15 bidding packages. The highway is key in connecting the economic triangle axis of Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh. It is hoped the highway can contribute to accelerating socio-economic develop in Quang Ninh and the northern key economic region. |
