First English-language int’l TV channel Vietnam Today to debut on Sept. 7
VOV.VN - Vietnam Television (VTV) on August 22 introduced Vietnam Today, the country’s first international TV channel, which is set to begin broadcasting on September 7, 2025.

According to Do Duc Hoang, deputy general director of VTV, Vietnam Today will be Vietnam’s first English-language 24/7 channel, featuring multilingual subtitles and appearing across modern media platforms, with the goal of bringing the image of Vietnam to global audiences.
Vietnam Today is built on three core principles - official information, insightful content, and creative communication, said Hoang.
In his view, Vietnam Today is more than just a television channel – it is a “window for the world to view Vietnam,” helping the international community gain a clear and complete understanding of a peaceful, stable, innovative, dynamic, and fully integrated Vietnam.
The channel also serves as a platform to promote Vietnam’s national brand, enhance international cooperation, and strengthen the country’s global standing and reputation.
VTV hopes to work closely alongside various ministries, agencies, localities, domestic, and international media colleagues, as well as influential figures, to jointly produce engaging, modern, and meaningful content for the new channel, said Hoang.
Vietnam Today was established under Decision No. 747/QĐ-TTg, dated April 11, 2025, issued by the Prime Minister, as part of a national effort to deliver external communication services that promote Vietnam to the world.
As the country’s first official international TV channel in English, Vietnam Today is tasked with communicating Vietnam’s foreign policy, the Party’s directives, and the government’s policies, while showcasing the country’s image, people, culture, and unique values in a vibrant, modern, and accessible way.
The channel will offer a diverse range of content, from news and commentary to features on culture, tourism, the environment, innovation, and digital transformation. All programmes will be professionally produced and designed to resonate with global audiences.
