First cold air wave to send temperatures tumbling on weekend
VOV.VN - The northern region of Vietnam is likely to brace itself for the first cold air wave of this winter this weekend, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF).
It will probably be a weak cold snap that may cause temperatures to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, said NCHMF experts.
It will be a bit cool at night but warm in the daytime, added the experts.
Northern localities are experiencing a warm air wave in a couple of days before the arrival of the cold front, with daytime temperatures ranging from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Scattered showers will then spread the whole region on October 7, causing temperatures to fall.
According to weather experts, the 2023-2024 winter will be not as cold as in previous years, with temperatures staying between 0.5 – 1 degrees Celsius higher than the average.
