Fire rips through Linh Dam Urban Area in Hanoi

Local witnesses said they heard an explosion from the air-conditioner outside unit of an apartment and black smoke could be seen rapidly billowing out from the area.  Hundreds of people inside the residential area entered a panic and fled the area by stairs.

After the fire alarm was raised, four fire engines and dozens of fight fighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.  Fortunately there were no reported fatalities from the fire but all the assets inside the apartment were completely destroyed.

The incident is still currently under investigation.
