Frozen warehouse in Binh Thuan catches fire

VOV.VN - A huge fire destroyed a frozen warehouse containing over 100 tonnes of dragon fruit in Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province on October 11.

According to the initial information, in the early morning, the warehouse’s workers tried to extinguish the fire with mini fire extinguishers but their efforts were in vain.
The fire broke out rapidly. Employees of the dragon fruit warehouse could not extinguish the fire and so more than 50 fire fighters were mobilized to the scene to battle with the blaze.
When the recue force came, the fire spread throughout most of the warehouse.
Due to the smoldering fire, firefighters had to break the doors down to access the fire.
Black smoke bellowed due to the warehouse storing flammable materials such as paper carton boxes and nylons.
 
 

Firefighters had to wear respiratory masks to go inside.

 
 
 
It took them several hours to bring the blaze under control. 
The fruit was scheduled to be exported to China. More than 100 tons of dragon fruits were damaged.

 
 
 
The fire caused huge property losses.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
