Fire destroys two houses in An Giang

VOV.VN - Two houses have been destroyed and several others damaged in a huge fire in My Hoa ward, Long Xuyen city in the southern province of An Giang. The fire took place at 8:45am on November 26.

According to eye witnesses at the scene, the fire started at the back of the house belonging to Mr Tang Tin Nghia, who currently resides in Tay Khanh hamlet. The fire quickly took hold and rapidly spread to three nearby houses.

After the fire alarm was raised, four fire engines along with fire crews were mobilized to extinguish the inferno. The fire engines encountered difficulties when approaching Mr Nghia’s house due to its location inside a small alley.

As the house contained flammable materials, the fire rapidly spread. It took fire crews more than 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

As the fire was breaking out, plumes of black smoke were seen billowing into the sky due to strong winds, forcing dozens of households in neighbouring areas to evacuate.

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
