Fire at Hanoi apartment building stamped out with no casualties

VOV.VN - A fire sparked on the 18th floor of an apartment building in Nguyen Co Thach Str., Hanoi at 9:30pm on March 27, making residents fleeing in panic. 

The blaze broke out at 9:30pm at Apartment A1 at Nguyen Co Thach St., Cau Dien ward, Nam Tu Liem precinct, Hanoi.  

According to local witnesses, the fire started from the 18th floor and spewed black smoke into the air.

The panic-stricken residents are fleeing the apartment and swiftly inform local fire brigade. 

Five fire engines are dispatched to the scene immediately along with fireman’s ladder and support facilities.   

Nearly 50 firefighters are mobilized to extinguish the blaze. The fire is brought under control in half an hour.

According to head of local fire brigade, the fire started from a mattress in a vacant apartment on the 18th floor.

No deaths are reported and the fire causes minor property damage.

The cause of the incident is now under investigation.

 
 

Earlier on March 23, a huge fire occurred at Carina Plaza apartment complex in HCM City, killing 13 people and injured 28 others.
