Fierce early-morning blaze kills four at eatery in Ho Chi Minh City

VOV.VN - A fierce fire broke out at an eatery on Tran Hung Dao street in Cau Ong Lanh Ward (former District 1), Ho Chi Minh City, just after 4 a.m. on December 5, killing four people from smoke inhalation, while a young boy was rescued in time.

The blaze erupted suddenly and spread rapidly, engulfing nearly the entire building as thick black smoke billowed into the sky.

The Ho Chi Minh City Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07) quickly dispatched firefighters and specialized vehicles to the scene. Dozens of fire fighters using ladder trucks moved in to access the burning area.

Rescue operations were prioritized to search for and evacuate people and property trapped inside. About 30 minutes later, the fire was brought under control, with much of the restaurant’s property destroyed.

Ho Chi Minh City police are coordinating further investigations into the cause of the fire and assessing initial losses.
