Fatal crash scene of military aircraft Su-22 in Nghe An

VOV.VN - Two pilots were killed after a military training aircraft Su-22 operated by the Vietnam Air Defence-Air Force Service’s Regiment 921 crashed in Nghia Dan district in the central province of Nghe An.

The pilots of the Su-22 fighter aircraft were on a training flight from Thanh Hoa and crashed in Nghe An.
The accident site is a few hundred metres from a residential area. None of the residents have reported injuries as a result of the crash.
According to the information on the website of the Ministry of National Defense on July 26, contact was lost with the Su-22 fighter aircraft at 11:35am. 
The two pilots on board were named as Lieutenant Colonel Khuat Manh Tri, 40, from Hanoi and Senior Lieutenant-Colonel Pham Giang Nam, 46 from Thai Binh province.
The Ministry of National Defense directs the Vietnam Air Defence-Air Force Service to coordinate with relevant units to carry out rescue work and overcome the aftermath of the incident.
Relevant forces in Nghe An are on the scene searching for the two pilots.
Military and rescue vehicles are mobilized to the scene.
Downpours in Nghia Yen commune, Nghia Dan district make it difficult for the relevant forces to access the scene.
The route to the scene of the accident is protected by the relevant forces.
