Exhibition on national achievements to help inspire patriotism, pride: official

An exhibition featuring national achievements will be held on the occasion of the 80th National Day (September 2, 1945–2025), aiming to help visitors “relive” the historic moments through interactive activities, and inspire patriotism and national pride among them, according to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency, Dong affirmed that this will be a political and cultural event of special significance as it offers an opportunity for the entire Party, people, and armed forces to reflect on the 80-year journey of fighting for independence, defending, and building the country under the comprehensive leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This will be the largest exhibition ever held in terms of content, presentation format, and the number of participating ministries, sectors, localities, and businesses. Specifically, it will bring together ministries, central-level agencies, mass organisations, all the 34 provinces and cities, international organisations, leading economic corporations, and prominent private enterprises.

The content is meticulously curated, incorporating modern technology to comprehensively showcase the nation’s remarkable achievements across various fields. These accomplishments are presented through art and visual storytelling, enriched with the integration of diverse and distinctive forms of artistic expression.

Themed “the 80-year Journey of Independence, Freedom, Happiness,” the exhibition will highlight the country’s most outstanding achievements over the past eight decades across a wide range of fields, including industry and technology; investment and trade; agriculture and rural development; national defence and security; foreign affairs; health care and education; as well as culture, sports, and tourism.

A notable feature is the introduction of a multi-layered digital map of the 34 newly-formed provinces and cities for the first time. This map aims to showcase the positive outcomes of the recent administrative reform and restructuring of local administration units.

Particularly, photographs and video clips recorded by citizens from across the country, which have won prizes at the annual Happy Vietnam competitions held by the ministry, will be showned this time.

Notably, alongside traditional image and artifact displays, the event will also present innovative design concepts that reflect the spirit of the times, aligned with trends in digital transformation, green development, and digital culture. This creative approach helps deliver content in a more intuitive, dynamic, and accessible manner, especially appealing to younger audiences, Dong stated.

The official expressed his belief that with this renewed approach, the exhibition, which will be held at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Hanoi's Dong Anh commune from August 28 to September 5, will go beyond the typical function of display, but become a truly meaningful space for education, inspiration, and the cultivation of patriotism and national pride in every Vietnamese citizen.
