Exhibition features President Ho Chi Minh’s signatures, autographs

VOV.VN - An exhibition introducing a collection of signatures and writings of President Ho Chi Minh in the 1945 - 1969 period opened at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on May 17 to celebrate the late leader's 133rd birth anniversary (May 19).

Do Hoang Linh, deputy director in charge of the President Ho Chi Minh relic site at the Presidential Palace, said that on display are more than 200 original orders and decrees selected from more than 1,400 archived documents with autographs, as well as nearly 80 file photos illustrating the historical period from 1945 to 1969, during which Ho Chi Minh served as head of State.

The exhibition is being divided into two parts, with the first including photos and documents in the 1945 to 1954 period when President Ho Chi Minh ran the administration, pursued diplomatic solutions to protect revolutionary achievements, and led the country’s long-term resistance war against French colonialists.

Meanwhile, the second introduces an array of photos and documents in the 1954 to 1969 period when he led the process of building socialism and protecting the North, whilst simultaneously conducting the national liberation revolution in the South and expanding diplomatic relations in a bid to mobilize support and help from the international community.

Dang Thanh Tung, director of the State Archives and Records Department, said that many decrees with handwritten autographs or signatures of President Ho Chi Minh being showcased this time are evidence of his ingenious and wise leadership role during the early years of building the administration. In addition, it shows his key role in the resistance war to safeguard national independence such as the President's appeal for national resistance on December 19, 1946, and his writings calling for national patriotic emulation in 1948.
