Event showcases ties between Vietnamese and Laotian public security forces

The event can be considered a platform in which to showcase the solidarity and effective co-operation that exists between the forces of both countries throughout history.

As part of his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Tan Toi said the exhibition is being held with the primary goal of marking 60 years since the establishment of the Laotian public security forces on April 5, 1961. Indeed, the first Vietnamese public security specialists were sent to the neighbouring country, on March 22, 1961.

The special relationship that exists between both sides is a rare example of close-knit, faithful, pure, and fruitful links between the people of both States, including their public security forces, he stated.

Overcoming a range of challenges and hardships, those glorious and proud ties have been demonstrated across a variety of fields through time, especially defence and security, he added. Most notably, co-operation and mutual support in security have helped to firmly safeguard the revolutionary achievements of both sides, whilst also boosting the strength of their defence and security.

It has also helped to defeat plots of sabotage and other actions by hostile forces, along with protecting political security, social order, and safety as a mean of stabilising the regional and global situation.

Mutual co-operation, trust, and assistance between the two public security forces can also be seen in the connections made by Vietnamese specialists and the wholehearted support shown by the public security officers of Laos over the previous six decades, Deputy Minister Toi said.

The event aims to educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions whilst reinforcing ties between the Vietnamese and Laotian forces, along with the two Parties and two peoples.
