Eight imported cases of coronavirus from Russia raise national tally to 381

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health on July 15 reported the discovery of eight fresh imported cases from Russia confirmed to have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus, taking the total number of infections in the country to 381.

The newly detected cases are among 69 Russian experts who boarded IO4405 flight and entered Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on July 11. They were then isolated in the city of Vung Tau and their samples sent to the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City on July 13. Test results on July 14 indicated that 8 cases were positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The latest active cases have not yet displayed symptoms of the disease and are in stable health condition. They have been transferred to Ba Ria Hospital for medical treatment and quarantine.

The nation recorded no additional novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the community, marking 90 consecutive days without any local transmission of the COVID-19.

Among the total registered cases, 241 cases had been imported from other countries, with each of the individuals being immediately quarantined upon arrival.
Moreover, there are currently 12,337 people in quarantine in facilities nationwide.

The same day, a 28-year-old female patient known as patient 330 was released from Quang Nam Central General Hospital after giving the all-clear from the disease.

According to the steering committee’s Treatment Sub-Committee, a total of 353 patients, 92.7% of the overall figure, have made a full recovery from the virus with no fatalities being recorded so far.

Among the 23 active patients undergoing treatment, three have tested negative for the virus at least once, with two testing negative for the virus at least twice.
