Education Program in Response to the Model City Policy in the Deep South
Sungaikolok Industrial and Community Education College in Su-gnai Kolok district, Narathiwat province, has arranged a new education program in response to the Government’s policy of "Triangle of Stability, Prosperity, and Sustainability.”
Almost 200 students at this college have been sent for practical training at various organizations and workplaces in such fields as electricity, mechanism, accountancy, computer science, marketing, hotel business, and tourism.
Sungaikolok Industrial and Community Education College opened in 1998 and offers courses for higher and lower-level certificates of vocational education, as well as short-term training, to prepare students for the ASEAN Community.
The college stated that its new education program is in line with the Government’s model city development project, under the policy of Triangle of Stability, Prosperity, and Sustainability.
The project seeks to develop model cities in Nong Chik district, Pattani province; Betong district, Yala province; and Su-ngai Kolok district, Narathiwat province.
The model city of Su-ngai Kolok will focus on developing border trade with Malaysia. Projects to be implemented include infrastructure development, such as the construction of the second Kolok Bridge and a product distribution center.
