Drug dealing young lovers arrested in southern Vietnam

VOV.VN - A young drug dealing couple were arrested in the southern Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang Wednesday, August 30, as part of an investigation into organized transnational drug smuggling.

24-year-old Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc and her 36-year-old partner Khamlue Saeng from Thailand were taken into custody after police raided her house in Tien Giang Province and discovered an estimated 4,000 ecstasy pills and substantial amounts of cash.

Both have been charged with possession with intent to supply the illicit drugs, said police officials. They are believed to be part of a larger drug syndicate operating in the region trafficking drugs into Vietnam from Thailand.

There is no word on when they young lovers are due to appear in court.
