Dong Thap receives 32 Vietnamese citizens from Cambodia

VOV.VN - The Dinh Ba International Border Gate Guard Station under the Dong Thap Provincial Border Guard Command announced on October 23 that it had coordinated with relevant forces to receive 32 Vietnamese citizens handed over by the Cambodian side.

Among these 32 citizens, there are 25 men and 7 women hailing from 19 provinces and cities. During working sessions, they declared that they had gone to Cambodia to work in karaoke venues, restaurants, and online gaming-related operations.

Through screening, relevant forces determined that no cases were victims or suspected victims of human trafficking.

Regarding cases violating entry and exit regulations, the Dinh Ba International Border Gate Guard Station issued decisions to impose administrative fines on four people for crossing the national border without completing exit procedures as prescribed by law, with total fines amounting to VND30 million (around US$1,200).

After finalizing prescribed procedures, the unit will hand over the citizens to local police forces for further handling within their jurisdiction, helping ensure security and order in the border gate area.
